Lost Vikings for Nintendo Game Boy Advance
This portable version of The Lost Vikings is based on the 1993 16-bit games of the same name and its release is timed to celebrate the title's tenth anniversary. The adventure has players guiding three Viking characters -- Erik the Swift, Olaf the Stout, and Baleog the Fierce -- through a great number of different action-puzzle screens. The trick to success often lies in using the characters' different abilities, as well as interactive objects found on most stages, in the proper manner to ensure that all three Vikings make it to the end of the level. Perhaps Olaf will use his shield to create a platform that Erik can run across to pull a switch, for example, as Baleog fends off bad guys with his sword or activates remote buttons by shooting arrows at them. The original Lost Vikings game was created by Silicon and Synapse, the company that evolved into powerhouse PC game developer Blizzard Entertainment. This GBA version is one of the first games to be published under the Blizzard Classic Arcade label.
