Mega Man 3 for Nintendo (NES)
Mega Man 3 is the third game in the Mega Man series published by Capcom. You play as the title character Mega Man on his longest 8-bit adventure in the entire series. The story is much like the original two, Dr. Wiley has built eight robot masters and is using them to take over the world, and it's your job to stop him. Mega Man 3 introduces a few new features, and reoccuring characters to the series. Mega Man now has the ability to slide around to avoid enemies or get under narrow passages. Mega Man's helpful robot canine Rush is introduced to the series. The robo dog has many uses that help clear stages such as letting Mega Man jump on his back and then launching him in the air to get to normally impossible to reach areas, turning into a jet allowing Mega Man to pass over dangerous spikes or falls with ease, or turning into a submerssible vehicle letting Mega Man move through underwater areas much more easily. Also making his debut is Mega Man's mysterious brother Proto Man, who shows up on certain stages to 'test' his younger brother. Like Mega Man 2 there are eight different stages to play before making your way to Dr. Wiley's castle. Unlike most Mega Man games after you defeat the eight masters, you have to replay four of the stages on a hard mode and defeat all eight of the robot masters from Mega Man 2 as well. Like previous Mega Man games Mega Man 3 uses the password system save.
